The All Souls Cathedral was designed by Walter L.B.Granville, in Victorian gothic style. Built at the cost of Rs. 2,00,000 in 1875 its marble floor was a gift of Maharaja of Jaipur. The chancel floor is of Milton's glazed tiles and all interior designs by distict engineer Mr. Cleburne. A handsome brass lectern was denoted by Mrs. W.C.Plowden and a font of pure white carrara marble was erected by the officers of 2nd light cavalry. The interior contains monuments to the mutinyincluding several memorial tablets. To the east of the church is the Memorial Garden, approached through two gateways. A short path leads to Baron Carlo Marochetti's famous mournful seraph, set in front of a pierced gothic screen designed by Henry Yule. Originally the statue and screen stood in the Municipal Gardens in the centre of the city. The memorials were relocated here after independence in 1947. The military cemetery on the edge of the cantonment caontains a number of interesting graves from the late 19 th century. Within the city the King Edward VII memorial hall is noteworthy and chirst church (1840).
